As William Shakespeare famously said, “some people are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.” In line with this old saying, there are countless ways in which people gain media prominence and fame. For some, it may be through a direct achievement in their careers while for others it is via an association of some kind with those who are already known. In the case of Tharita Cesaroni, she is certainly best known as the wife of actor Dermot Mulroney. This, however, does not mean she is not a great achiever in her own right.

Tharita Cesaroni Before She Became a Celebrity Wife

From her name, you probably guessed right that Tharita Cesaroni is at least of Italian descent. The American celebrity wife was reportedly born in 1970 in Milan, Italy. The exact date of her birth is, however, not known. Her father’s name is Franco Catulle and he is originally from Calabria in southern Italy. As for her mother, Emy Cesaroni, she is a native of Terni in the Umbria region, central Italy.

While we do not know her father’s profession, her mother is reported to have been a singer and actress. This part of her background must have allowed her to easily get used to her Hollywood husband and his lifestyle.

With very little information available about her early life, we do not have any detail about where Tharita received her education. It is not clear what she studied to be able to have a career as a cinematographer and movie producer. This means that while she works behind the camera, her husband who she has been married to since 2008 makes a living in front of it.

How Tharita Cesaroni Met Dermot Mulroney

Before marrying Tharita, Dermot was first married to American actress Catherine Keener in 1990. Reports have it that the actor met his actress wife in 1986 while they were working on the movie, Survival Quest. The two later had a son named Clyde Mulroney, who was born on June 21, 1999. Clyde is now a singer by profession.

After about fifteen years together, the marriage between Dermot and Catherine began to crash. They separated in May 2005. Citing irreconcilable differences, Dermot filed for divorce in June 2007, and proceedings were finalized months later in December 2007.

It is said that Dermot never had it in his plans to marry again after his marriage to Catherine fell apart, at least not until he met Tharita Cesaroni. The pair are believed to have first met on the set of the 2007 comedy film, Dante’s Inferno. The film, which was based on an epic poem by the famous Italian poet, Dante Alighieri, was performed with hand-drawn paper puppets on a toy theatre stage and starred the voice of Dermot Mulroney as “Dante”. Tharita worked with Michael Negrin as a member of the film’s cinematography team. Soon, Tharita and Dermot began to talk to each other, and then from being just friends, they became romantic partners. The pair got married in the following year after he finalized his divorce. Their wedding ceremony was a private affair.

Following his decision to quickly move on from his ex-wife, many have speculated that Dermot’s new romance with Tharita may have played a role in his first marriage falling apart. However, it is not certain whether Tharita Cesaroni was involved with the actor during his marriage.

Tharita and Her Husband Have Two Kids

Tharita Cesaroni was probably pregnant for Dermot by the time they married each other in 2008. We can say so because, in that same year, she is reported to have given birth to her first kid, a baby girl named Mabel. Another baby girl named Sally June was born the following year 2009.

Together with her two kids and husband, Tharita resides in Los Angeles, California. The family of four are often seen attending events and holidaying together.

The Cinematographer Has Made A Lot of Money Too

While Tharita Cesaroni may not be as famous as her husband, it does not mean that she is not as wealthy. As we mentioned earlier, she is a movie producer as well as a professional cinematographer.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Website’s Occupational Outlook Handbook, producers and directors earn around $71,620 per year and $34.43 per hour on the average. As for film and video editors (cinematographers), the same document says that they earn an average pay of $58,210 per year and $27.99 per hour. Although these figures are based on the 2017 median pay scale, it is still a fair guide to the kind of earning power Tharita Cesaroni must have enjoyed over the years she has served as a cinematographer and producer in the U.S.

So, how much is Tharita Cesaroni worth precisely? Well, while her husband is reported to have a net worth of $11 million by late 2018, that of Tharita is still under review.

How Her Husband Built His Own Net Worth

Dermot Mulroney has been able to be worth as much as $11 million by appearing in a number of successful movies over the years. He has along the line managed to build a reputation for featuring mostly in the romantic comedy genre.

Dermot’s acting career has been thriving since the mid-1980s. His first credited movie role can be traced back to 1986 to the CBS TV film, Sin Of Innocence. Since then, the thespian has been in at least seventy films and thirty-five TV shows and is not showing any signs of quitting. Some notable projects he has featured in are Young Guns (1988), Where the Day Takes You (1992), Point of No Return (1993), Angels in the Outfield (1994), My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997), About Schmidt (2002), and Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015).

Tharita Cesaroni’s husband still continues to act today. In 2018 alone, he was a part of seven notable screen projects, including two sitcoms and one comedy-drama web series. More recently, he starred as Special Agent Robert in the 2019 action thriller film, The Courier, and has appeared in 3 episodes of the FOX crime drama series, Prodigal Son.

But, as one comment puts it, Dermot Mulroney has been largely underappreciated in the industry which is obviously why he has been lagging behind on the awards tables.
