Chukwudum, Chimezie Metu was chosen 49th overall by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2018 NBA Draft on June 21, 2018. Metu was selected and joined the team’s 2018 NBA Summer League roster.

He officially signed with the Spurs on September 4, 2018. On October 20, 2018, he made his NBA debut, recording two points, two rebounds, and a block in little under three minutes of action against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Metu, on the other hand, was waived by the Spurs on November 20, 2020. He then signed with the Sacramento Kings on November 28, 2020, but was released on December 22, 2020, following only four preseason games. He signed a two-way contract with the Kings two days later.

Metu was ejected from a Summer League game against the Dallas Mavericks on August 15, 2021, for throwing a punch at an opposing player, Eugene Omoruyi. As a result, the NBA suspended him from the Summer League championship game, which the Kings eventually won.

Metu scored a game-winning three-point jumper from the right corner at the buzzer on December 29, 2021, clinching a 95-94 home victory over the Dallas Mavericks. This was a big accomplishment for Metu and the Kings, highlighting his abilities as well as the team’s future.
