David Madero Sculptor

Madero is one of the most respected and admired sculptors in the US. He is known as the heavy-metal hero of the welding art world. He was introduced to the metal world by his father at age five. He honed his skills to get to where he is right now. Today, David is a full-time metal sculptor, furniture designer, and owner of Madero/Co., a welded art company.

At Madero/Co., they use an assortment of different welding and forging processes that include Mig, Tig, Stick, and Oxyacetylene. His specialty is working with carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and bronze. He personally works on his smaller sculptures and has a team to assist with his monumental art and functional art pieces.

Having started out as a sculptor, Madero became a teacher too. He desired to share his skills with the world thus going further than just uploading videos when he began a weeklong welded art workshop, which he conducts about once a year.

His courses showcase numerous things an artist can do with a weld bead; i. e creating textures, running a weld bead over a weld bead, making creative and unusual patterns, and even laying down freeform beads with no clearly discernible patterns.

David holds some of his clinics at welding schools and others are in manufacturing facilities. He also posts his work on his various social media pages and the website, you can click to check them out.
