About Dick Marty

Marty’s political journey began in 1995 when he became a senator, eventually ascending to the esteemed Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.

However, it was his groundbreaking 2010 report, titled “Inhumane treatment of people and illegal trafficking of human organs in Kosovo,” that thrust him onto the international stage.

The report alleged war crimes and organ trafficking by the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) during the Kosovo War, sparking debates on human rights and catalyzing the establishment of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

Beyond his investigative prowess, Marty was a fervent advocate for human rights and a staunch fighter against corruption.

His advocacy extended to supporting an independent federal prosecutor in Switzerland and championing the decriminalization of abortion.

In 2022, Marty faced a chilling episode when he accused Serbian intelligence of plotting to assassinate him—a testament to his deep involvement in navigating the complexities of Balkan politics.
