According to Coral Gables police, boxer Gervonta Davis faces charges in Florida after a video of him “battering” his ex-girlfriend at a charity basketball game in Miami back in 2020.

Davis, 27, turned himself in to police after a video leaked on social media over the weekend purporting to show him abusing an ex-girlfriend with whom he had a kid, according to police.

According to a news statement, the event was reported to authorities via social media and by the ex-girlfriend.

A former boxing champion then surrendered to authorities and charged with domestic abuse and simple battery.

According to the arrest report acquired by the Miami Herald, the woman suffered damage to her lip and left jaw in the assault.

According to the police report, Davis dragged the victim to a separate room near the southeast corner of the basketball court by her shirt.

Social Media Complaints To Boxer Gervonta Davis

Gervonta Davis appears to have disabled his once-verified Twitter account and removed all of his Instagram posts following the incident.

Moreover, “I never once hit her,” Davis previously wrote on Instagram. Yes, I was belligerent and told her, “Come on… that’s the mother of my child… I’d never injured her…”

Davis was alleged of dragged the victim by her shirt to a separate room where security video showed him “drawing his arm back then forward towards the victim, which is consistent with a strike to the face where the victim incurred injuries to her lip and left jaw,” according to the charging documents.

However, Lorin Chvotkin, Davis’ counsel, declined to comment.

Davis was previously charged with assault in a Virginia mall, but the charges were dismissed.
