Guillermo del Toro is a Mexican filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, and novelist, known for his work in the fantasy, horror, and science fiction genres.

Del Toro’s films often explore themes of monsters, the supernatural, and otherworldly beings, and he is known for his use of practical effects and makeup rather than relying on CGI.

He is also a prolific producer, with credits in films such as “The Orphanage” (2007), “Splice” (2009), and “The Shape of Water” (2017), which won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

A recipient of two Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, and an Emmy Award, his work has been characterized by a strong connection to fairy tales and horror, with an effort to infuse visual or poetic beauty in the grotesque.

Guillermo del Toro maintains residences in Toronto and Los Angeles and returns to Guadalajara every six weeks to visit his family.

According to Architectural Digest, Guillermo del Toro paid $4.2 million for a beautiful five-bedroom, five-bathroom home in Santa Monica, California. He currently owns a 1920s home that has been “totally rebuilt and refurbished,” to be more precise.

Guillermo is the owner of three homes in Los Angeles and two in Westlake Village, “including a $4.5 million Santa Monica Gothic Tudor.”

One of his many homes is the well-known “Bleak House,” which is situated in the suburbs of Los Angeles and serves as both a man cave and a shrine for his horror relics. Even though Guillermo insists he is not a hoarder, the two-story house is packed to the gills with more than 10,000 unsettling, unsettling stuff.
