eWallet is a service provided by the First National Bank (FNB) to help anyone in South Africa who has a cell phone number easily receive money sent to them by an FNB customer. The process of sending, withdrawing, and checking your account balance is very easy and does not require the customer or recipient to have any special or technical skills. There are also several methods of sending and withdrawing money that a sender and recipient can choose from.

The entire process is quite secure. Withdrawal of funds is designed in a way that the recipient, even after receiving the notification on his cell phone will need a PIN to actually access the funds. The sender is therefore required to be careful enough to input the right cell phone number of the recipient.

What You Need To Know About FNB’s eWallet

With an active South African mobile money account, you can receive money from any FNB user, even though you do not bank with FNB. eWallet makes sending and withdrawal of money easy. The transferred money is received almost immediately and can be withdrawn by the recipient from any FNB ATM.

There are several measures put in place to ensure that the money transfer is secure. For instance, if the recipient does not activate his or her eWallet within 13 days from when the transaction was made, the money will be returned to the sender. This is designed to protect the sender and ensure that they do not have to suffer the loss that is usually associated with online transfers. To activate your eWallet, all you need to do is dial *120*277#.

Immediately the sender successfully completes the transaction process, the recipient whose mobile number was provided by the sender will receive a message notifying him or her of the money they have just received.
