Ken Paxton Case

On July 31, 2015, a grand jury indicted ken for felony securities fraud. The charges included two counts of securities fraud in connection with the sale of more than $100,000 or more of Servergy Inc. stock to two investors. He was as well charged with a lesser charge of not registering. On August 3, 2015, Paxton was booked and released after he turned himself in.

He dismissed the charges against him as politically motivated and appealed them. On August 27, 2015, Ken formally pleaded not guilty, at his first court appearance on the three securities fraud charges. District Judge George Gallagher, after the plea, granted a motion made by Paxton’s attorney, Joe Kendall, to withdraw from the case.

ken announced on September 10, 2015, that he had hired new legal counsel. On December 1, 2015, his defense team moved to have the charges dismissed while the prosecutors sought to amend the indictments.

Ken Paxton Joe Biden

On December 8, 2020, Ken sued the states of Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. This was where certified results showed Joe Biden the victor over President Donald Trump. He alleged a variety of unconstitutional actions in their presidential balloting, arguments that had already been rejected in other courts.

In Texas v. Pennsylvania, Ken asked the United States Supreme Court to invalidate the states’ sixty-two electoral votes. This would allow Trump to be declared the winner of a second presidential term. Because the suit is cast as a dispute between states, the Supreme Court has original jurisdiction, although it often declines to hear such suits.

There is no evidence of widespread illegal voting in the election. His lawsuit included claims that had been tried unsuccessfully in other courts and shown to be false. After the failure of his lawsuit, ken traveled to Washington to speak at a political rally for President Trump on January 6, 2021.

In his speech, Ken told the crowd “we will not quit fighting”. Immediately after the speech, the crowd of Trump supporters left the rally and stormed the United States Capitol building in a riot that resulted in the death of 5 people, including a police officer. In reaction to the violence and loss of life, Ken falsely claimed that the rioters were liberal activists posing as Trump supporters.

Ken Paxton Pen

In 2017, a pen was lost at a Collin County courthouse, where lawyer Joe Joplin rushed through the security stop, needing to get to a hearing. He realized he’d left a tray of three pens at the metal detector a few hours later. Among the pens was one which was a gift from his wife — a $1,000 Montblanc.

Joplin rushed to the security entrance and the pen was gone. He talked to the sheriff’s deputies, who told him that shortly after Joplin went through, another man picked up a tray of pens on top of the machine.

He emailed a boyhood friend who happened to be the Sheriff of Collin County, Terry Box, where he ordered the security camera review. Upon conclusion of the tape review, it was found that the man who had picked up the pen whether knowingly or unknowingly was state Sen. Ken Paxton of McKinney. A deputy Sheriff rung Ken who arranged for the return of the pen. During Ken’s campaign for AG, the pen incident became widely publicized.
