Lainey Wilson Net Worth In 2022

Lainey Wilson is a Country singer and songwriter who has a net worth of $5 million.

Wilson’s path to fame was an interesting one. She grew up in Baskin, Louisiana, a community of barely 300 people. Her father and mother worked, the former being a farmer and the latter being a teacher.

Though her town was small, her childhood wasn’t lacking as she developed an early interest in music.

Her family frequently listened to the traditional country music of Glen Campbell and Buck Owens. She later told the Advocate that for her and her family, country music meant more than just music; the lyrics to those songs were a part of them.

When she was nine years old, she went to see the Grand Ole Opry and found herself captivated by the music. She remembers thinking she wanted to do the same while staring up there.

Wilson’s father helped her learn a few chords, and she had started creating songs by herself by the time she was a preteen. She posted her extended play Country Girls Ruled on Myspace in 2006.

She started working as a Hannah Montana impersonator while in high school. During this time, she frequently appeared at fairs, festivals, and birthday celebrations around Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas and organized performances where she appeared as Hannah Montana.

Once, she even performed for young cancer patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Lainey Wilson’s Career Earnings

Country singer and songwriter Lainey Wilson started her career soon after finishing her education.

Right after finishing high school, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, the holy grail of country music, in August 2011. She made her home in a camper trailer next to a Nashville recording facility. She had her water and electricity paid for by the studio owner to make ends meet.

She revealed in 2021 that although her early years in Nashville were challenging, they taught her to persevere and that things weren’t always going to be simple. She performed at several small venues for several years while honing her songwriting.

Finally, she released a self-titled album on the Culpit label in 2014.

Two years later, she released her second album, Tougher, issued by The Lone Chief record company. The project attracted attention and debuted on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Due to the album’s success, Wilson managed to get the attention of major labels and signed a recording contract with the BBR Music Group. In 2019, she released her third EP, Redneck Hollywood, on a big label for the first time.

Dirty Looks, her first single with a big label, was also released in the same year.

Country Music Television took notice of Wilson, including her in their 2019 Listen Up Class and their 2019 CMT Next Women of Country tour. 2019 was a big year for her as she also went on tour with Morgan Wallen.

Lastly, what helped her image grow was several of her songs being used in the Paramount Network program Yellowstone during this time. The BBR label released Wilson’s next radio single, “Things a Man Oughta Know,” in August 2020.

The single received extensive media coverage from several sites. By 2021, the song had become her breakthrough hit, peaking at number one on the Country Songs list and third on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.

It was a part of Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’, her third studio album from 2021. The album consisted of 12 songs and was her first full-length album released on the BBR label. The album was her second to appear on the Billboard country albums chart and peaked at number 40.

Lainey Wilson Is An American Songwriter

Chiefly, Lainey Wilson is an American songwriter in the country genre but is known to bring in other influences.

Wilson’s music has a strong country influence, but it also borrows from other genres outside the country, like pop, and genres closer to the country, like southern rock. Her songs are rough but an emotional contemporary country with an edge that originates in vintage Southern and classic rock, as well as a splash of modern pop.

According to the description of her style on the website AllMusic, her voice is clear and powerful, with an unapologetically Southern accent. She referred to her musical aesthetic as a bell-bottom country, which many have defined as a fusion of easy listening with hard truths.

Dolly Parton has had a significant effect on Wilson, and her song “WWDD” (What Would Dolly Do) is an homage to the country legend.
