Mayfair Witches, based on Anne’s novel trilogy Lives of the Mayfair Witches, debuted on AMC on January 8, 2023.

It marks the second television series in the author’s Immortal Universe after Interview with the Vampire.

Currently, in Season 1, the next episode of the thriller series will air on February 19, 2023.

Mi Daemon Mihi Labora Meaning And Translation

Mi Daemon Mihi Labora meaning is My Devil Work for Me translated from Latin. These words were previously chanted in Episode 2 also.

In the latest episode, Rowan chants the spell during a ritual. As she is willing to do anything to get rid of Lasher, she visits Cortland to find possible ways to transfer her designee status.

Cortland then tells her about one previous successful transfer – from Catherine Mayfair to Julien, her twin brother. He further shares that the process is complex and Lasher must accept the new designee.

He then calls his cousin, Dolly Jean, for more detail about the process. She agrees to help after noting that she found the transference ritual in Julien’s diary.

Jean prepares for the method at the Mayfair home, which will need all the Mayfair women to come together.

She also warns Rowan that getting rid of Lasher may mean getting rid of her powers, including her medical intuition.

She then takes Rowan to Julien’s workshop. There they find a doll made of her ancestors’ teeth, bones, and hair. With Dolly reading the spell and asking the ancestors to help transfer Lasher, all women in the circle kiss the doll and pass it around.

Also, Rowan has to chant the spell “Mi Daemon, ad me veni. Mi Daemon, mihi labora. Mi Daemon, me libera” (My demon, come to me. My demon, work for me. My demon, free me). She has to chant it with all her heart.

Episode 6 Recap And Plot Details

Mayfair Witches follows an intuitive young neurosurgeon, Rowan, who learns that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches.

The neurosurgeon must face a sinister presence that has haunted her family for generations.

The plot includes elements of family secrets, the power of witchcraft, passion, and Rowan’s newfound powers.

Episode 6 saw Tessa Mayfair encouraging Rowan to use her powers as a conspiracy is growing against witches like them.

But she wants nothing to do with any of it. She visits Cortland seeking a way to get rid of Lasher.

Cortland then calls his cousin, Dolly Jean, hoping that she knows how once Lasher was transferred from Mary Beth to her brother Julien. Meanwhile, Ciprien touches Lasher’s necklace.

She has a past vision of Suzanne, a Mayfair ancestor, tried as a witch in Donnelaith, Scotland, in 1681 by the witchfinder.

With no option left, she uses “wicked words,” which summon Lasher. He then kills the Witchfinder.

Jojo and Dolly gather Alicia, Tessa, and other Mayfair women to attempt a ceremony that includes a fetish doll. As Rowan chants the words to call Lasher, she chokes up the necklace.

The women in the ritual believe Lasher has chosen Tessa as Rowan’s successor. The anti-witch cult kidnaps Tessa, but Lasher does not appear to help her.
