Nila is the firstborn of parents Virgil Van Dijk and Rike Nooitgedagt.
The loving duo has known each other since Virgil was in his first club, Groningen.

However, she abandoned her job in 2013 to support Virgil in his quest with Celtic, and they moved to Glasgow.

Nila’s premature birth
Rike was expecting Nila and was due in September 2014.
It was the same time when he received a senior call-up to the Holland Football squad.
To not miss his much-awaited debut match, he arranged for a premature birth of their daughter.
Although the delivery was smooth and successful, most of the fans and even the Netherland Coach Guus Hiddink criticized him for his poor decision.
Unfortunately, the coach did not select him for the match, and he had to wait till October 2015 for his debut.
The dispute between Virgil and his father, Ron Van Dijk
Virgil’s parents split when he was 12.
His father got married again, and his new wife was very domineering towards Virgil.
After his parents ended their wedding, Virgil lived with his father, whereas his brother and sister lived with his mother.
But after a while, he chose to go back to his mother and broke all contact with his father.
This is the reason he prefers writing his name instead of his family name on his jersey.
Even Virgil’s younger brother, a businessman at present, and her sister ditched their father surname and started using their mother’s maiden name, Fo Sieeuw.
Virgil’s Surgery
A year later, after his first professional contract with the FC Groningen, he had an appendix burst, which was so serious that it would have almost killed him.
He spent 12 days in the hospital and blamed his poor eating choices for the infection.
It took him four months to recover. He even wrote a will in the name of his mother.
At present, Virgil is known among the most expensive defender.
Virgil cheated on his wife, Rike
Virgil cheated on his wife, Rike, when she was pregnant with their daughter Nila.
He allegedly offered Porn star Georgie Lyall to sleep with him.
They met after he celebrated Celtic’s league title at Parkhead.
As per sources, they were in contact a day before his victory.
It was confirmed when their chat text was revealed, which agreed to meet in the hotel.
There were proofs of Virgil entering and exiting the hotel with Georgia.
Later on, Georgie called it off, and Virgil chose to be honest with his wife.
