Early Life

During his days in college, Hoying became a member of SoCal VoCals which is a Capella group. One of the members called Bram told him about The Sing-Off. After Hoying persuaded Mitch Grassi and Kristie Maldonado, Beam gave an opinion that they needed a bass and a beatboxer too for support.

For the vocal bass, he discovered Aviel Avi Kaplan through a mutual friend. Avi was born in 1989 on 17th April.
