Taijuan Emmanuel Walker is an American professional baseball pitcher who currently plies his trade with the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has also played for the Seattle Mariners, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Toronto Blue Jays.

Walker was born on August 13, 1992.

There’s not much information on Walker’s dad and this is because Walker was raised by his mum only.

Walker’s mother is Nellie Garcia.

Who is Nellie Garcia?

Garcia single handedly raised Walker and his siblings.

She did her best to see him through his education and aside that, there’s not much information about her.

Walker attended Yucaipa High School in Yucaipa, California, where he was a pitcher and shortstop, as well as a two-sport athlete. At Yucaipa, Walker was teammates with Matt Davidson, a third baseman in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

Through his blistering performances, Walker was signed by The Seattle Mariners in the first round, with the 43rd overall pick, of the 2010 MLB draft, agreeing to a deal that included an $800,000 signing bonus.

That was the beginning of Walker’s journey into Major League Baseball, largely due to the sacrifices of his selfless mother.
