What Illness Does Ryan Kalkbrenner Have? Health Update

Ryan Kalkbrenner missed recent week’s games while dealing with a non-covid illness.

For weeks, the CU player was plagued by symptoms of his illness. With a few staff in the locker room showing flu-like signs, the staff didn’t think the symptoms were more serious than a temporary cold.

However, Ryan observed a change in his stamina and vigor. He was unable to recharge the way he used to. The symptoms of the defensive player’s illness made him miss two games.

Moreover, Creighton Bluejays will make a game-by-game decision on Ryan Kalkbrenner. The Center’s next chance to play will be on Friday against Marquette.

In an interview, the Creighton Bluejays assistant coach said that Ryan’s presence alone impacts the team. Sunday’s loss was the fourth straight loss of CU. As a result, their dream year is likely to become an uphill climb.

As Creighton University lost the match to Brigham Young University (BYU) by more than 20 boards, Ryan Kalkbrenner didn’t just look like a significant player but the irreplaceable one.

While some reliefs are behind the 20-year-old player’s diagnosis, it left Bluejays in a challenging situation. The assistant coach said it is a component of the season and an opportunity for teams to grow despite difficulties.

The situation did create an opportunity for a few players, like sophomore Arthur Kaluma and freshman Fredrick King.
