The Washington Post article published last year in 2020 clarified that Max Scherzer is not Jewish.

Max Scherzer relieved Gio Gonzalez in Game 5 of the National League Division Series between the Washington Nationals and the Chicago Cubs at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

Scherzer has a 4-4 postseason record after a no-decision in Game 3, but he never won a game in the National League playoffs.

If he guides the Nationals to the NLCS, it will be the first time in franchise history that they have won a playoff series.

He signed a seven-year, $210 million contract with the Nationals, the largest in the team’s history and the second-highest ever for a pitcher behind Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

When David Price signed with the Red Sox in the 2016/2016 offseason, he surpassed Scherzer but not Kershaw.

Max Scherzer Religion: Is Dodgers Baseball Player Jewish?

Fans frequently misunderstand the name Max Scherzer to mean that the Nationals pitcher is Jewish, making him one of only nine Jewish players in the Major Leagues in 2016. Scherzer was even classified as Jewish in a 2012 story in The Jewish Journal newspaper.

Last Year in 2020, a Washington Post article was published according to it, Scherzer is not Jewish.

In truth, the name Scherzer is of German origin, and it could refer to a family whose ancestors came from Scherz, a small Swiss town.

In addition to his exceptional pitching ability, Scherzer has another unique feature; he was born with heterochromia iridium, a genetic disease that causes each eye to be different. Scherzer has two eyes, one blue and one brown.
