NFL fantasy waivers processes on Wednesday, between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Unclaimed NFL players will become free agents.

Fantasy Football is a popular real-time game for NFL fans. Players all over the country participate in this platform and have to choose multiple players on their roster. The selected players will then garner points for their team depending on their real-world performance.

ESPN, Yahoo, and NFL employ their own brand of Fantasy Leagues with players from all 32 NFL teams. These athletes will have to perform great in order to rack in massive numbers.

It is up to the Fantasy Managers to determine who they think would perform well. They need to have great knowledge about NFL matters. They also must be updated about the recent news regarding injuries, suspensions, and depth charts.

After the initial draft, a Manager can still choose new players from the list of waived players. Hence, one manager can get their hands on multiple athletes through this process.

This claim made by a manager over the undrafted free agent is referred to as a Waiver. With a waiver wire, the manager has the right to add a footballer that they think is essential to their roster.

Waivers Process NFL Fantasy Time and Day

Waivers Process in NFL Fantasy begins between 12:00 a.m. Wednesday ET and 6:00 a.m. Wednesday ET. NFL will clear all the requests during this time.

The pending request is cleared about 24 hours after the official Week 1 Monday Night game. The players can be waived at the beginning of the match.

Once the NFL season starts, the waiver process will continue every night until early Sunday or Monday morning. Managers have to be vigilant to add new players to their roster from the waiver claims.

The playing day won’t matter, for instance, if an athlete’s match is on Wednesday or Thursday, the managers will have to wait for the following weeks to run before they can process their waivers again.

Fans also need to understand that there are undroppable players that they cannot drop at any moment during the 2023 season. Once picked up, these players cannot be waived and can never become free agents.

Some of these undroppable athletes are Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, Ja’Marr Chase, Davante Adams, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce.

What Time Do Waivers Process On Yahoo Fantasy Football?

Yahoo Fantasy Football waiver process happens between 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. ET. The players can be placed on waivers after their game has ended.

Players who are unclaimed will be waived when the Week 1 of the NFL begins. The waving time has a deadline of Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. PT. After this, a manager can claim any athlete who still remains.

Once a claim is made, the waiver period is set for 2 days. A private League can choose between 0 – 7 days. If the waiver time is set for 1 day, then it will take about 24 hours to process the pending requests.

A league commish can set the “None” option for Waivers too. This will prohibit any waiving activity from taking place. The unclaimed players will be free to get picked on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The manager with the highest priority will get the needed athlete. A ranking system from High to Low is featured in Yahoo. The one who successfully claims the player will then move to the bottom of the priority.

Moreover, when a Manager uses the Continuous Waive feature, the manager still cannot add a player to the roster on the same day the claim was done.

To add an unclaimed player, the managers must take them before the current game week’s time of Sunday PT 11:59 pm.

What Time Do Waivers Process On ESPN Fantasy Football?

Waiver process for ESPN Fantasy Football occurs between 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. Eastern Time. This time is applicable to the Standard Waivers.

An athlete will be set on the waiver once the draft ends or the player is dropped from their initial roster. This period resumes for 1 day. If they don’t get claimed by any manager, then they eventually enter the free agents list.

Moreover, ESPN classifies that when a footballer is added and subsequently dropped within 24 hours, then will automatically enter free agency. only a dropped player who spent more than 1 day with a roster will be on the waive list.

When you search for a desired waived player, you will see a Yellow ‘Claim’ option under the player’s profile.

Just like Yahoo, the claim priority will be implemented when delivering the players to a particular manager. When that manager receives the claimed player, then they will move to the bottom of the list.

For the LM Leagues, waiving options can be changed from None to 2 days. The “None” option will always automatically move the dropped players to free agency.

There are two other types of settings too, i.e. Free Agent Budget (FAB) and FAB Continuous.

In the Continuous version, a manager must bid for the claimed player, which will subtract their budget total if successful. The NFL Players will always be on waivers. The FAB one states that the player will be placed on free agency if they are not claimed during the offer time.

How Does The Waiver Order Work In Fantasy Football?

Waiver order works in Fantasy Football by claiming a player who is undrafted or got dropped. Waivers provide opportunities to add new players to the roster.

The requests for the waiver claim will be on hold for several hours, and it will take some time to clear out all the pending requests. Priorities will be made when giving the players to a particular manager.

At the start of every NFL game weekly, the free agents will be placed on waivers. The timing for their placement will vary ranging from 1:00 pm to 8:20 pm Eastern Time Sunday. Players having games on Thurs or Sat can see their waive status before their game begins.

NFL Fantasy has also established conditions for how long the footballers can stay on the waiver list.

Here is the list:

• Free Agent During an NFL Game – 6:00 am ET Wednesday
• Released During Free Agent Add / Drop – 3rd waiver process after the add / drop happens
• Released During Waiver Process – Next Waiver Process

Waiver Process Rules

Waiver claims will be processed according to the waiver rank of the Fantasy team. The team that has the best rank will get the claimed player.

Three criteria determine the ranking for the Claim priority: They are listed below:

• The team that has the Worst Win-loss record.
• The team that scores the least amount of points.
• The team that has the most points scored against them.

When a team gets their hand on the player, their rank will move to the last position.

Any abuse of the system will result in a ban on the player from performing any adds or drops in the 2023 season. For instance, a user can add and then subsequently drop multiple players at the same time to create inaccessibility.
