Zsuzsi Maria Starkloff was in a long-term relationship with Prince William of Gloucester till death made them apart. Though the lovers have perished, their love lives on in the hearts and minds of netizens.

Prince William of Gloucester was the most famous royal of the twentieth century. He was a role model and all-around idol for a young Prince Charles, who named his first kid after him because he was tall, sporty, and gorgeous.

Prince Williams and Zsuzsi Starkloff’s love was one of the greatest loves of the twentieth century. But it was marred by heartbreak and scandal, and the Queen finally vetoed it.

Christopher Wilson, a royal writer, reflects on Prince William of Gloucester’s terrible love affair.

Where Is Zsuzsi Starkloff Now?

Zsuzsi Maria Starkloff, 83, of Steamboat Springs, died at home on May 1, 2020, after a valiant fight with cancer. In 1936, she was born in Budapest, Hungary.

She escaped the Communist dictatorship that had taken over her nation at the age of 20 and made her way to America, where she was quickly awarded US citizenship.

She started off as a model in New York before becoming a flight attendant with the now-defunct Overseas National Airways and flying all over the world.

Zsuzsi met and married a pilot, Ed ‘Starky’ Starkloff, during this period, and soon after she acquired her pilot’s license, allowing her to work as a flying teacher.

After her marriage to Starkloff ended, Zsuzsi relocated to Tokyo to study Japanese and teach English. She met the prince at a cocktail party while she was there in 1968, shortly after the foreign office deployed him to the city as a 26-year-old junior diplomat.

He called her Cinderella right away.

Zsuzsi was five years older than the prince and far wiser in the world. She wrote him a message the next day and sent it around to the British Embassy, knowing nothing about the stuffy procedure.

‘Dear Prince Charming, I’m missing a slipper,’ it said. Are you interested in attending a party?’ It worked perfectly. William came racing, and they were lovers in no time. In 2013, Zsuzsi informed me, ‘He was quite a dude.’

‘It’s quite macho.’ Very enthusiastic. He’s wise beyond his years.’ The connection grew away from the spotlight.

‘She knew absolutely little about the royal family, and almost nothing about Britain,’ says TV filmmaker Brian Henry Martin, who recorded her in Colorado in 2015.

He asked his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, how they would react if he offered marriage. They were opposed because she was older, divorced, and of a different faith than William (Jewish).

Zsuzsi Starkloff Is Mentioned In Prince William’s Wikipedia

Zsuzsi Starkloff is mentioned in Prince William’s Wikipedia as a former model and hostess, who had a long-term connection with him. Starkloff was 83 years old when she passed away in 2020.

On the other hand, Prince Williams was just 30 when he died in an aviation collision in 1972 while competing as a pilot.

Though passionate, his relationship with Starkloff was marred by tragedy and scandal. Although their narrative began in the 1960s, portions of it will resonate with royal fans today since Zsuzsi was an attractive, intellectual American divorcee, similar to Meghan Markle.

But, although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were married, Queen Elizabeth put an end to Prince William’s connection with Zsuzsi in 1970, fearing a repeat of her uncle Edward VIII’s love for the gorgeous American divorcee, which resulted in his abdication.

Prince William’s estimated net worth is $40 million at the time of his death.

The Duke of Cambridge is William’s official royal title. He is the first son of Prince Charles and Lady Diana, Princess of Wales. Prince Harry is his younger brother.

Prince William, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, resides in England with his wife, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and their three children.

Similarly, Starkloff has amassed a fortune from her career as a model and an intelligent human being.

Zsuzsi Starkloff was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1936 and was residing there till she decided to flee to the US in 1956. Prior to her association with Prince Williams, she worked as a successful model in New York for a few years before becoming an international flight attendant.

She got her pilot’s license soon after and went on to become a top-flight instructor and commercial pilot.

Starkloff relocated to Steamboat in 1985 and launched her own real estate rental business. Though the couple never got married together, she used wears to wear the prince’s ring around her neck on a chain.

She might have married into the Royal Family. But instead, she lives a simple life on a mountaintop in Colorado, hundreds of miles from the rest of the world, and the House of Windsor intrigues that brought her down.

Otherwise, Hungarian-born Starkloff, with a huge estate in Northamptonshire and a grace-and-favor apartment in Kensington Palace, could have been Duchess of Gloucester.

Her innate modesty and cool good looks would have garnered her a legion of fans and a position in the hearts of the nation.

Instead, the Establishment’s invisible powers and a deadly aircraft accident put an end to a love that, while mostly hidden, shocked the royal court to its core.
