UFC 271: Who Is Derrick Lewis Mother? Parents Name And Family Details

Derrick Lewis has not revealed the name of his mother anywhere as he is very protective of his parents due to their background.

The UFC fighter was raised by a single mother in New Orleans, Louisiana. The reason behind his protection of his mama is because she was in an abusive relationship before running away to start a new life with her 7 children.

According to the MMA artist, his mother and stepfather, from the time he was eight years old, were engaging in fights. His mom was stuck unwillingly against a foe she could neither defeat nor escape. To escape her husband’s abuse, she took her children and fled to Houston.

After his mother managed to break free, the athlete – who was only a teen back then, was stuck in life on an accelerated track to nowhere. Due to the little guidance and a violent upbringing, he started fighting. Then, he became involved in street fighting.

This led to assault cases and jail time, before he transformed into the successful pro athlete today, he served a sentence of 3.5 years for assault and probation breaking. Now that he is engaged to be married with two kids, he feels his life is finally on track now.
