James Catalano is a gun lover from California who has been arrested for harassing the parents of a late school shooting victim.

The FBI detained a Fresno man this week on suspicion of harassing a father whose daughter was killed in the 2018 Parkland, Florida, mass high school massacre for months. He is now facing federal charges.

The story of James has quickly circulated on social media, and people are livid to see his behavior. Many people are furious and want to see him behind bars.

Who Is James Catalano Living In Fresno?

James Catalano, a 61-year-old Californian who lives in Fresno and loves guns, is accused of sending the father of a school shooting victim hundreds of letters and tormenting him about his deceased daughter.

Following a lengthy harassment campaign that targeted noted gun safety advocate Fred Guttenberg, James has been charged with one count of cyberstalking.

Catalano didn’t appear to be aware that he was being observed from a distance. The complaint claims that in February, Guttenberg’s webmaster put a ReCaptcha widget on the website, logging the IP address of each person who left a remark.

The government issued a subpoena to Comcast for the relevant information since the communications had originated from three separate IP addresses. One of the IP addresses was tracked to Catalano’s Fresno residence.

The second one was linked to Catalano’s commercial real estate company, J-C Markets, Inc. According to the lawsuit, while the third test results are still waiting, investigators are confident that the IP address is connected to Catalano’s company.

Who Is Fred Guttenberg?

Fred is the victim’s father who lost her life in the Parkland school shooting. In October, Nikolas Cruz, 23, entered a plea guilty to 17 first-degree murder charges. Gun control activist Guttenberg’s daughter Jaime, 14, was one of the 17 persons killed by gunfire at Marjory Stoneman High School in Parkland.

For the nation’s bloodiest mass shooting, a jury is currently deliberating whether to condemn him to death or life in prison without the possibility of release.

Guttenberg has been harassed by James on the internet almost regularly. James had been sending him emails disrespecting his daughter and her passing to an unfortunate event. While Fred did not respond to the emails, he contacted the authorities to take care of James.

Fred is still mourning the death of his beloved daughter. She would have turned 19 this year.

How Old Is James Catalano?

James is currently 61 years old. While there is not much information about James on the internet, he now resides in Fresno, United States.

FBI officers knocked on Catalano’s house on Wednesday. They gave him copies of some of the messages reportedly transmitted from IP addresses linked to Catalano, who acknowledged that he was the one who sent them.

After a hearing on Friday afternoon, Catalano’s detention was upheld, according to Jeff Hammerschmidt, his attorney. Catalano may receive up to five years in jail and a $250,000 fine if found guilty.
