Markeith Loyd, 46, was condemned to death for the January 2017 death of Orlando Police Lt. Debra Clayton. During a session on Thursday, Circuit Judge Leticia Marques announced her decision.

Before that, Markeith Loyd was already serving life sentences to kill Sade Dixon, his ex-girlfriend, a month before Clayton was murdered.

They had been dating for three months. Loyd had met Dixon’s family many times during that time and had dinner with them.

Sade Dixon was two months pregnant with Loyd’s child at the time.

Markeith tried shooting Daniels and Dixon-Daniels while running to his 1992 red Buick Regal. When Sade approached him, he shot her and fled away.
